Gyprock Plaster Repairs

How we can fix holes and cracks

Minor Damage: For dents and small scars, we can easily conceal them by cleaning and sanding the area, before adding a thick paste of plaster mudding.

Small Gyprock Holes: If the hole is a few inches wide, we can repair it with mesh and drywall mud. A two-coat process with a putty knife is used, before painting the area so that it blends with the colour of the plastering after it dries.

Medium Gyprock Holes: Here we use a small drywall piece to patch the hole. We then cover the patch with a criss-cross joint compound, add another compound after it dries, and feather the edges so it appears seamless.

Large Plastering Damage: This will generally require cutting the section to fit a new piece of gyprock, while taking special care not to damage any pipes or electrical fittings underneath. A piece of plasterboard larger than the affected section is patched with gyprock screws. We then use a joint compound secured with plaster tape, before sanding the area to conceal the repair and have it looking great.
